paul.jpg (10939 bytes) PAUL A. SPUDIC SR., 80, of PORT MONMOUTH died Friday, September 24, 1999 at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank. He was a claims clerk with the Dan River Corporation, New York. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II, serving from 1940 to 1946 in the South Pacific as a staff sergeant. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church. He was a member of the  Knights of Columbus Maris Stella Council, Far Rockaway, N.Y., Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2179, Port Monmouth, American Legion Post 0338, Leonardo, and the Croatian Fraternal Union. He graduated from Clarion State College. Born in Rimersburg, Pa., he lived in Far Rockaway, N.Y., and in Red Bank, moving to Port Monmouth 14 years ago.

His wife, Alma Malone Spudic, died in 1990. Surviving are four of sons, Paul Spudic Jr. of Middletown, Stephen Spudic of Ocean Township, Michael Spudic of Forest Hills, N.Y., and Joseph Spudic of Port Monmouth; one daughter, Eileen Beaumont of Middletown; four sisters, Ann Yurkovic of Clarion, Pa., Mildred McNaughton of Rimersburg, Pa., Rose Seigworth of Knox, Pa., and Dorothy Katich of Aliquipa, Pa.; and three grandchildren, Ricky Beaumont of Middletown, Kenneth Spudic of Port Monmouth, and Nicole Beaumont of Middletown.

Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. A funeral liturgy will be held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church at 9:30 Tuesday. September 28. Interment will be at Holmdel Cemetery, Holmdel.
